Good to know
Just steps from the cabin, the creek provides a constant soundtrack of flowing water that can be heard throughout the property. From the deck to the fire pit, you'll always feel connected to the natural surroundings. In the warmer months, guests often spend most of their time outside - rocking on the covered porch, enjoying a beverage under the stars or watching afternoon rain showers roll through the mountains. Whether you're exploring the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway or spending your time unwinding the cabin, you'll find plenty of reasons to slow down and stay awhile. Highlights: - Wraparound covered deck perched directly above the creek - Rocking chairs and glider with peaceful creek views - Private outdoor barrel sauna for a restorative reset - Fire pit with Adirondack chairs for evenings under the stars - Peaceful creekside setting with the soothing sound of flowing water throughout the property - Covered outdoor living space perfect for enjoying mountain rainstorms and listening to rain on the metal roof - Pet-friendly cabin Inside the Cabin: Simple, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, the cabin offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. Spend the afternoon exploring nearby mountain towns, hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway, or simply staying put with a good book and nowhere to be. As evening settles in, light a fire, enjoy a sauna session, and listen to the creek flow by beneath a canopy of stars. And if a summer rain shower rolls through, there's no better place to be than the covered deck, listening to raindrops tap the metal roof while the creek swells and the forest comes alive around you.
Other Details to Note
- Bring along some firewood or charcoal if you wish to use those amenities. - The cabin is equipped with a mini-split heating and cooling system in the bedroom, providing a comfortable sleeping environment year-round. While some cooled air reaches the living area, the bedroom is the primary climate-controlled space, and the main living space may feel a bit warmer during the hottest part of the day, especially upon arrival. Mountain evenings typically cool off nicely, and many guests enjoy opening the windows to let in the fresh mountain air for a comfortable and relaxing cabin experience. For cooler weather and chilly evenings, a heater in the living room helps keep the common area comfortable as temperatures drop. - Sauna use is at your own risk. Follow all safety guidelines. - We stock basic supplies that should last a long weekend (bring more for an extended stay) - toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, towels, cooking essentials, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. - The creek has a steep grade to get down to so it’s recommended to view from the decks/yard. Enter at your own risk. - The driveway is gravel and runs along the hillside to get to the cabin. If you're used to rural roads you may think nothing of it, but if it's your first time on the driveway, you may want to arrive in daylight to acclimate. It's not very long but it does slope at an incline to get down to the cabin from the main road. There is only parking underneath a carport or just outside the cabin. Low profile vehicles are not recommended as the driveway can get bumpy at times. - There is a second cabin on the property. It is a separate space with a carport and large pine tree in between. The cabins share the driveway but rest assured, each have their own separate and private space. *** County or State Wide Burn Bans or restrictions could be implemented at times due to Virginia's current state of drought which would prohibit use of the fire pit and potentially outdoor charcoal grill. Please search for Carroll County VA Fire bans or reach out prior to your stay if you want to confirm if any restrictions are in place. These are outside of our control and no refunds will be issued due to these restrictions. Any fines or penalties issued due to non compliance are the responsibility of the guest. All fires must be attended at all times.

Neighborhood
The cabin is located in a quiet rural setting. There is one home located beside the cabin with a friendly neighbor who spends part time at that home and keeps to themselves. The property has wooded grounds on the other side of the creek so there are no other homes in sight other than the small cabin on the property.
